    Default Lake Poinsett????


    Anyone been fishing at Lake Poinsett? If so, how's the fish doing?
    The wife and I are going sat to get out and do some relaxing. Hope the crappie spawn in not over, might have to go deep for them.

    There are so many good lakes around why would you go to Poinsett??

    I have caught alot of crappie there but haven't been in many years. what other good lakes are around.

    I'll answer that question.

    Lake Charles is twice the distance for him and you rarely catch a fish over 9 inches in Lake Charles.

    Fished Poinsett Sat. and Sun. morn. Fished in shallows sat. morning and never got a bite. Finally started trolling deeper water later on in the morning and started catching fish about 10-12 feet deep in 20+ feet of water. Kept 11 sat. and went back sun. morning and kept 25. All deep. This past weekend was only the second time i have ever been there so you may be able to catch them in other places that you may know about. Caught everything on minnows and not a lot of size to them. Most were between 8 - 10 inches with a few going up to 12". If im not working this weekend ill probably be back there with ya. May take my nephews.

    Horseshoe, Sardis, Lakeview.Tunica(AS the water drops), marked tree Barrow pits and several others close by.

    I dont think I could take a fishing trip to Northeast Arkansas without devoting a day to Midway....no question thats my first destination before I start looking elsewhere.
