im 61, retired last year . I bought an excel 22' center console (aluminum ) . love it ! i also bay fish south Louisiana so its a good dual purpose boat . crappie and bays . walk around , stretch, room for 3-4 fishermen if desired. huge storage and livewells , 14 gallon bait tank . When your retired , many places are ' reachable' ! 3 to 6 day trips are a blast.
"It was so dry in Texas the fish had ticks on 'em " !!!

I have to go with somewhere on Beaver Lake. I currently live in Farmington just outside of Fayetteville and love fishing Beaver Lake as often as possible. As far as the boat.....I have to go with a Bass Cat with a four stroke 250hp....I know it's a bit much for crappie fishing, but the family likes to do some tubing and wake boarding in the summer, so we do.....plus I've had a dream for a while to own an Arkansas built boat. Something about the pride of it being built in Arkansas.

Go North or go South, Central Arkansas is nothing compared to North or South Arkansas. Unless you are into city living, higher crime rates, higher tax rates ect ect ect........ The boat is really up to your personal wants and needs, fiberglass boats for me or bust, preferably 20-21 foot. aluminum is my second choice.
Welcome to the home of the, boat eating, trolling motor busting, prop bending, lower unit smashing, stump filled mud hole called Lake Conway.

Not North East Arkansas, lakes and water is few and far between. I really enjoy my Kingfisher stick steer boat.

Mountains for sure, either Ouachita or Ozarks. Hard to beat the fishing opportunities in the Hot Springs area.
My buddy up in Kansas recently got a fully decked out G3 Sportsman 200. Heck of a boat, would be hard to improve on.
Outside Arkansas, I’d be very tempted to live in SE Oklahoma. Texoma, Broken Bow, Great Lakes over that way.
If money was no object, I’d buy several smaller places around the country for the outdoor activities I liked. Crappie Fishing—Mississippi. Deer Hunting—Up North somewhere where the BIG ones are, etc.
