Default CACA Tournament this weekend on Conway (Question)

I was looking at the CACA schedule and saw that they were holding a tournament on Conway this weekend. My buddy and I are planning on getting the boat out for the first time this year and Conway is by the far the closest spot to fish. I want to be in some fish, but I'd also like to stay out of their way.

Do you guys know what ramp they typically use? Do you think I should buy minnows the night before, or will there be plenty after the tournament guys load up?

Thanks for the help! And if you're fishing the tournament this weekend, good luck!

They will probably be using multiple access areas scattered around the lake. There will probably be an early rush on minnows in the morning. Buying your minnows the night before may be a good idea. Good luck fishing this weekend.

Thanks for the response! I'll pick some up on the way home. Along with some fresh batteries for my aerator.

Well I decided to go this afternoon. Fished every cypress clump in the dix creek area without a bite. Using minnows and red worms (in case of bream).

I Also had my brother in law with me throwing a white spinner bait for green trout. Nothing for him either...

    Any advice?

SSLLOOWW. Don't know about minnows but we jig fished Friday and Saturday. Had to hold the jig pretty well still to get a bite. When you did get a bite, it was light.

Thanks! I hate you had a slow day, but I'm glad it wasn't just me.

We put in at Greens Lake landing on Sat and fished nearly every Cypress tree and brush pile in that area. Never got one single bite. Loaded up and moved to Caney creek and same thing. Should have stayed with what's been working for us and fished Gold Creek area.
