Caught one crappie out there today and it was a baby. The only folks I really seen doing any good where spider rigging they obviously could cover a lot more water than I. I enjoyed myself and I'll definitely give gold creek landing another go around soon. It was packed in there so I know the fishing is good. But like some others said they just wasn't really biting. I'm going to fish caney creek Saturday hopefully I'll have some better luck.

I really like Atkins and Overcup . Harris brake would be another good one for your setup

Well guys I've been doing a lot of reading and you tubing and it's mostly my own fault im not catching fish. I have been fishing with 10lb test and 1/4 jig heads and I believe I'm to fast on my retrieve because I'm worried about sticking to the bottom because I'm too heavy. I'm about to go buy some 4lb test put it on my spinning reels and fish much much lighter like 1/32 or 1/16 so maybe I can feel more and I can reel much slower and stay suspended above the fish a little better. Going to go again in the morning and try to find em.

You have any updates? I read through your thread and I'm a new guy too, so this interested me....I think we are feeling a lot of the same growing pains when it comes to crappie fishing! I went out yesterday, didn't get a bite, of course the lake I went to was 75% iced over so I couldn't get where I wanted to, didn't want to break ice to get there. Let me know how your fishing's going, you got me curious!
