    Default Back to Basic's

Back to Basic's, with all the modern ways to catch crappie around us, it was nice to just cast a float and small jig. It took me back to my childhood where so many crappie careers got their start this way. Never forget your roots.

St Croix Rod, Sahara reel, Weighted WM float, Midsouth Cart on a 1/32 pink head, 6 lb Berkley Vanish Flora Carbon line. Slow rolled 3 feet deep tipped with nibbles...

You should recognize that pole and reel Slab, you sent it too me as part of a Fish USA contest winnings. Let me tell ya out of all my many poles there is non that i like better to catch a fish on, more than this 8' St Croix panfish rod, what a fun rod to catch a crappie with. Glad you got to see it put to use and thanks Ed.
