    Default Crankin 5/30/16

Cranked some up for the first time this year! I took Bigfoot out on the water. Water temp started off at 73 and was 81 when we left. The fish were very picky with their depth but not color. All colors caught. Mistake was the best it seemed. They wanted that sucker 12 feet down. We trolled at 1.8 and wasn't doing very well, so we slowed down to 1.5 and it was game on! No real slabs but all some solid fish. We probably could have finished out the 2 man limit but rain was coming and fast and we had enuf n out cooler and decided to call it a day. Man it sure was FUN!

Interesting you slowed down to catch them. My trolling motor does not have a happy spot at 1.8 mph. So, I normally run 2 mph. Might try one speed down to see what happens. Thanks. DP

DP I catch a lot, if not most, of my crappie trolling at 1.25mph. I don't usually go much faster due to stumps and hang ups. I'm afraid I'll break my trolling motor hitting something or burn up the drags on my reels before I can get slowed down and turn around and go get it un-hung.
