It's too cold to fish when you spit and it freezes before it hits the ground.
It's too cold to fish when you have to thaw your words when you speak, so you can hear them.
It's too cold to fish when your wood stove needs an electric blanket around it to keep the flame from freezing.
It's too cold to fish when the guy fishing next to you is in a umiak.
It's too cold to fish when you can punch out your hung jig WITH THE LINE.
It's too cold to fish when you have to hold the most recently caught fish under your arm pit to try and get warm.
It's too cold to fish when the fish actually likes being held under your arm pit for warmth.

Nimrod is extremely high and muddy , only ones out are Sky Carp hunters and Green Carp fishers.

I don't like the wind in my face when it's cold. The one condition that sort of makes me leery is when the lake is not froze over but the temp has dropped real fast below freezing. Seen people launch then drag that water up the ramp and it freeze almost instantaneously, seen a couple rigs slide into the lake and some people fall on the ramp on that black ice. When I use to snag from the bank making long cast ,sometimes when the spool would freeze near solid. It was impossible to fish at some temps because you couldn't cast or reel line in. That's on a Penn 309 with 50lb test. But whipping the line in the air while jerking had the effect through evaporation of causing it to freeze even faster.

You done good though...beats freezing your tush off at work on some job outside that's for sure

Someone took this pic of me back in the day as I was heading to the dock to try & catch some halibut. Shemya island, oh the memories.
