I'm going fishing at blue mountain tomorrow.. this will the first time I've fished it. Anyone have any tips on where to look for a good fishing area?

It is. Was down there last Saturday, lots of shad in the river made for tough fishing. Found some out on the lake in 8-10 foot of water. Pink and black and chart and purple

I had trouble finding structure in the main lake. In the river channel found a lot of bait fish and caught several crappie in the brush. All of them were dinks. I know AGFC put out pvc fish attractors but my hummbird 598 hd si could not find them. Have herd that other users with that same fish finder can find them. I need to play with the setting and see if I can find them I guess. I really like the lake it is a pretty lake. Better luck next time I hope.

Usually you find the Shad and you have found the Crappie. I don't spider rig but often catch Crappie jigging open water schools of Shad on other lakes . I favor fishing wood but will fish open water if that's where fish are . mcgoods you just have to figure depth and speed to catch fish around Shad schools .
