Default The line has been drawn in the sand...

I am sick and tired of seeing unattended, unlabeled, illegal Yo-Yos, limb lines, and trot lines on my home lake, Conway. Even worse, when they have dead fish hanging from them. They are everywhere! If you like to use these types of fishing gear, it would be in your best interest to read and understand the regulations and use them properly. I have been given permission by the Enforcement Captain, to remove any illegal device that I find. If I have to drive around the lake once a week until they are gone, I will.

For all of those who label these devices correctly, fish them correctly, and remove them when they are not being actively fished, Thank You! If the others don't start using these devices lawfully, it will eventually ruin it for everyone. So please help encourage the others to do the right thing and follow the regulations.

If anyone observes these devices being used illegally, not labeled, not actively fished, or abandoned, let me know. If it is a violation that a ticket can be written, I will see that the information is passed on to the local enforcement officers. If not, I will personally remove them. It is really sad that this trash is left out in the lake so long that the hooks are rusting up. Thank you for helping me clean up Lake Conway!Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1436825310.505979.jpg

I was out there a week or so ago and ran into a game warden, he gave me his # and asked if I saw any of this he would like to know. Said he wrote a group up for crappie under 10in's. He was gonna give them a warning till one of them dumped another short in the lake before he could measure it. Some people are pretty stupid!! Glad there is some enforcement going on!!! If all of us (law following) sportsmen get involved we can make a pretty big dent in it!

There are some younger wildlife officers in the county and we tell them about violations every chance we get. They are on board with us in getting the lake cleaned up. It is going to take time and cooperation from anglers though.
