Default Hey Yall Lowe Stinger Guys

    I've been looking around....
Is there ANYTHING you don't like about these boats?
By the looks of things, it's about the perfect boat...
    Is the 40hp plenty?

Lowe Stingers 175 come with a 60 merc four stroke Joe now days, I would get that, 40 too small IMO, a 60 will push you at about 30-35 based on your load. I bought mine for H20 other than a TM issue they have done a good job. Been fishing the Lowe Stinger five years now and it's done a great job for me with very few problems, the storage is great along with the two live wells and threes seat plates up front, and that big ole wide deck makes it nice for us big ole boys. One of the best buy's on the the market IMO for what you get. Good Luck.

Got the 195 in 2007.......115hp 4 stroke Merc. Beat anything Tracker had at the time. By far. Wide beam, stable, as good as I could find for the money.

Now that I'm putting Spyderloks on the front, the front seats are too far back from the nose......... and the front upper deck where the trolling motor is mounted is a bit small. The custom trailer is not wonderful, just adequate. I put bunks on mine and it fixed the problem. Those are the only things I can come up with that I don't like, and those three things are very small things to me. Overall, the boat has all the room I need and has done well for me. I don't know if the layout is the same or not these days.

One rule of thumb. Whatever the back plate says is the maximum HP of motor allowed............get that.

I have a stinger 195 with a 115hp Merc. There is NOTHING I dislike about the boat!!!! It has the ultimate floorplan in my opinion and the storaage is second to none in the aluminum boat class.

The trailer on the other hand is a mickey mouse piece of crap. The very first thing I had to do was place plastic skids on the trailer boards. Then need to replace the wench with a MUCH larger one. I emailed the company about this issue of me spending so much money on this boat and the trailer was as cheap as it gets and got no reply. So Im assuming they arent going to change things. But If given the opportunity again I would have made the same purchase! With my 115 4-stroke it will do 36-41mph depending on my load. I was told it would do 50mph and it will not.

With the 195 you get a WHOLE another rod box for storage.

I bought a new Stinger 175 with 75hp mercury optimax in 2009.I liked the floor plan, storage and large front deck. I live on Lake Dardanelle and ruff water on the lake/river is common, the Stinger 175 MOD-V hull just did not handle the ruff water very well. If you are fishing big waters, you might look at the Stinger Pro Elite Series with the pad hull. If you don't have to deal with ruff water they are a great boat.
