    Default Afternoon Thumpage!!

With the warm rain and warm temps of the last few days, I decided to hit the water for a few hours yesterday afternoon to try out one of my favorite Spring patterns. Water temp was 55.6 when I launched. There was heavy cloud cover, and the bite was non-existent. Just as I began to question my hunch that the fish were on the move, the sun broke through the clouds and the bite was on! I didnt catch a boatload, but the ones that bit were toads! Smallest was 1.5lbs., biggest was 2.3. All fish were males with their tuxes on! 7 fow, just off the bottom with chartreuse Midsouth tube. Temp was 64 when I loaded the boat to go home.Name: uploadfromtaptalk1426978852446.jpg

Size: 58.5 KBDecided to go back this morning for the early bite. After making Howards Cowards sit on the ramp for an hour waiting on me(forgot to set my alarm,) we launched again. Fished the same area, but this time we werent so lucky. The sun wouldn't cooperate today, and the water temp never got above 54 degrees. Only caught one fish in six hours. Beats sittin at home! I give it another week and the bite will be on!!

Nice fish but that's the reason they call it fishing and not catching.

Fished today too. Bite was definitely better when the sun was peeking through the clouds.

Great story. Do you have 7 bricks in that bag? That's the only way I could get 7 to weight almost 13lbs.
