If you even consider a fiberglass boat be sure it has a full fiberglass composite hull. No wood!
Been fishing from an old aluminum boat for years. I'm wanting to invest in another boat. A nice boat. Because of budget restrictions, a used boat is in the works. I've looked at the used Tracker line-up and also, used 90's model bass boats, bass cat, champion, etc....on Craigslist trying to stay between $5K-10$ Any suggestions?

Two years ago, I gave $8000 for an 03 Triton 176 magnum, 18 foot, aluminum boat. It has a 115 4-stroke Merc, that is real economical. This boat has as much storage and deck space as my old 519vx Ranger had. I have seen several more like it on CL and ebay in the last few months.
In my opinion it depends on where you plan to fish with it. If you stay on lake Conway most of the time the I would suggest aluminum but if you fish big lakes with lots of wind then the fiberglass works better. I have had both therefore this is my opinion. I like the fiberglass over aluminum.
