    Default Rubber Trailer Bunks

I bought some rubber pads to put on the bunks on my boat trailer. I really dont have any problems with my boat loading and unloading on just the carpeted bunks other than the wench that came with my boat was junk. But anyways I bought a new 2000 pound wench and those rubber pads. My uncle told me that he had put them on his boat and he loves em, except for when the ramps are steep one man cant load the boat by himself because by the time you go to the front to hook the wench onto it, the boat will try to slide back off the trailer. I believe him, but was wanting to get other inputs on this as well. I'm trying to decide if I should use them or take them back.

Oh and I already had my boat slide off the trailer while going up a ramp on greers ferry with just the carpeted bunks. That was pandamonium lol! It was the first trip to the lake. Had never been in the water before. I guess thats what a powder coated paint job will get ya lol.

You can avoid the boat slide by keeping it in gear while you go up front to hook the winch. You are aware of the only concern I have with them is the boat sliding off the trailer. Remember that and you should be fine.

If your not having any trouble I would not use them. They are slick. Have to train yourself to leave winch and safety chain attached until boat is actually in the water. Then like tedford said, keep it running in gear to hook up winch when loading. You ain't gonna get but one chance.

id take him up on that deal Lowepro , what have ya got to loose, just make sure you leave boat hooked when putting into the water and make sure its hooked when pulling out and you should be fine, they should last allot longer than carpeted ones too

I just have the flat rubber rectangles about 4x8 inches and 8 of them that screw down to my 2x4 bunks.

No, mine are the flat plastic kind that you put on with something like a roofing nail, staple or screw.
