Slade, I read once on the MS board about some guy wanting to get all 18' rods and someone else said not to do that unless you have a 21' boat. I'm assuming it has to do with not being able to get to the end of the rod if you have problems, or maybe transporting them. Just a thought, I'm not sure how long your boat is, I'm working on getting 14 footers myself. Maybe someone else could comment on this if there is a problem with pole length vs boat length.

With the position of my transport rack (Creekslick 12 pole), my poles stick out the back of my 20' Xpress, and they are 16' poles. It doesn't hurt to have the tips stick out the back. It's virtually impossible for them not to. You can't mount a transport rack all the way forward on your bow. If you do, it's in the way of the trolling racks and the trolling motor, plus it's hard to get around the transport rack with poles in it when you're fishing two up front. The butt on the rods needs to be behind the fishing seat a little so you don't hit them when you move to the rear of the boat.
This is my original 10 pole rack. I've since upgraded to a 12 pole model. It has 4 rows of 3 rods.

That's good info to consider, a guy might even need to think about where he could mount his transport racks in relation to his boat set up so that he doesn't have way too much pole sticking out past the rack. I would assume too much pole sticking out past the rack would cause the ends to constantly be slapping together. Might eventually cause some damage to your pole tips or cause them to tangle up. I know with my boat we couldn't mount the back rack as far back as we would have liked to and with my 14 footers they bounce pretty wildly and do hang up on each other sometimes. Again just a thought.

I would go with Monks. I bought 4, 14' PSTs and then bought 4, 16' PSTs. I second the thought that you should go with 16 footers. I wish all mine were 16'.
I wish they would make the bgjp longer than the 16 but it is by far the best rod I have used for my style of fishing.
