The crappie are starting to feel the affects of the cooler weather we've been enjoying. Wendy and I went out early this am and caught our limits of crappie and then we had to grabbed a guy off the dock at Self Creek Marina so we could keep fishing and stay legal.
They were mostly just good eaters today but the better fish will be stirring soon. We plan to fish about every day that we can between now and Crappie Camp so if anyone wants to ride along we could use the help (and your limit).

A couple of our motel guests helped us scout for Crappie Camp on Saturday morning. We caught our three best crappie right before sunrise.
We caught some small crappie as shallow as 8-feet so they are starting to move up a bit. The better fish were all in the 12 to 15-foot range.
