    Default Fishin Lessons -

David and I headed to the Delta again this weekend and we let the kids do all the fishing for us. They brought in every fish caught and did an outstanding job. Eli is only 2 (will be 3 next month) but he was terrific with those long rods! The bite was terrible and we were running 14 rods.....6 crankbaits straight-lined off the back - 2 planer boards with cranks/RR's on the side - 6 jigs/RR's double rigged up front with heavy weights. Fish were caught on all of those and nothing in particular seemed to work best. We missed a number of fish and got several close to the boat before getting loose and only wound up with 9 crappie in the boat by 2:00. Had a couple of buddies on the lake in different boats using Minner Critters and the bite seemed to be slightly better with the minners but still not good. The kids had a blast and so did we in spite of the poor bite!

Super nice job. You are creating fishermen/woman as we speak. Love to see smiles on the kids face.

Way to go, granddad! Now that's what it's all about, my friend. Those kids will remember these days for the rest of their lives. Good job, Steve and David!

Looks like they had a great time. They seem to have it figured out pretty good. Keep them at it. Great pictures.
