Deez, you met me, remember?
I did all that EXCEPT......the "downloadable format" is a .gpx file, right enough.
But that won't open with anything except Google Earth!! And it's not a list of coordinates, it's a map........with "pinpoints" showing in the lake. If I put my cursor on one, I can read the GPS coordinates at the bottom. Should be good, right?
Trouble is, if I rely on those GPS coordinates showing at the bottom, and then put them in Google Maps, they show up about 500 yards north, ON LAND!! In other words, something is off by many yards.
I can't figure out how to get a simple list of the coordinates that those pinpoints represent. Maybe there's a way in Google Earth, but I've read "help" and played with it, and I'm lost.
Google Earth shows these waypoints as pinpoints with names like "GRL 8001" and "GRL 1309" etc. I can put cursor on the pins, but the GPS coordinates are either wrong........or Google Maps is wrong........or I'm an idiot.
I pick C.
Sigh.

Hey Bill, of course I remember you! I think google earth may be wrong. I opened the file in a program called expertgps. It shows GRL 8001 in the water. I didn't see 1309 in the list. You can download a free version of the program called easygps, that will let you transfer that entire list of waypoints to your LMS 337cdf. Or there's always option B. Take deezer since he already has the waypoints loaded in his gps.
I like B. Come on down! If there's any openings I'll be at Kirby Landing!
And I still ain't making myself clear.... Sorry. I can see the points "in the water" with google earth. But I don't know, and don't trust, the GPS Coordinates for what I see in the water.
OK update.
I downloaded the trial of ExpertGPS.......thanks Deezer, I never heard of it before. Course, I only get five days of it!!..........
And I copied the AGFC data from ExpertGPS for various lakes into Excel.
Ain't no way to 'download' this data into my Lowrance 337 ancient depthfinder. And manually loading takes hours, but at least I have the data.
Haven't heard from Agri Hawg, hopefully he can give me some real ones. Not sure I totally trust the AGFC data, but maybe it's just me that isn't doing something right.
Thanks.
How long you gonna be there? I'm taking the family to Branson this week. We'll be back home on Saturday the 14th. If your still gonna be there on Sunday I'll run down there for sure!
Dang.
She's talking about coming home on Saturday. I'm begging for Sunday. Honestly, it depends on when we leave, and that depends on when we stop behaving like Seattle!!!
You got my cell? Call me on Sat to see what we're doing.
Anybody else here in that area this week, holler at me.
I don't have your cell. PM it to me. Good luck! Looks like it may rain all week!
Will do.
Here's what I mean.
Pinpint 1190 is:
34.2266491 -93.6940487
If you stick that in Google Maps, it shows on some road, on LAND, fairly close to the lake, but not in the water. Makes we suspect these AGFC coordinates!!
My Garmin Map76 shows me on land half of the time when I am on Greeson. Jerry was very dilagent about placing condos on just about every point and creek mouth up and down Bear creek. Find out what depth they are at, and you should be able to find a condo holding fish. DP
