Good day on the sea.
Got away for a few hours friday to tangle with some specs on Maumelle. We ended up with only 13, mostly males. They were on the edge of the grass in 5-8fow on the west to central part of the lake. Water temp was 59-61. Caught them slow rolling lake fork tenn. shad jigs with a chart. head. We backed off and were able to catch a few females before the wind just got plain rough and turned to crab fishing conditions. The females had eggs in them but they were still white. Here are some pics of some of the males that were really dark. Sorry for the poor quality, its was wet and windy.
He said, "Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some." When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Yeah I've never fished that lake but from hear tell it's not just loaded with crappie so 13 was probably pretty good over there and those had some size on them too, good catch. I only had 20 other day on a home lake but knew to get dad out there it would have to be a closer lake and that the 20 we would catch would be bigger ones.
