Best fishing I have had was wading the St. Francis for spotted bass. Also waded the watershed lakes for some big old bass
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

I've done a lot of wade fishing for smallmouths in the Mulberry River. The most relaxing day possible is spent waist deep in a cool pool on a hot August day.

Have tried a couple times with no luck, but last year we were at Horseshoe, and there was a couple guys in the trees with us that were wading, and they were smoking 'em. He had two of the telescoping poles, on in each hand, and a jig tied on both. He would fish both sides of the tree and if a crappie took one of the jigs, he simply dropped the other pole and landed the fish.

I used to wade Eagle Lake in Mississippi, in my younger day. We would wear them out starting in March thru the first of May. They just could not stand it if you dropped a jig in front of them while they were in the buck brush.
