    Default White river refuge report

Im just wondering if the river has fell enough. I live too far away to just drive down and see. I was thinking about going next friday. I only know how to get to a couple of the lakes, and those are some of the easiest ones to get to. If you know but don't want it broadcast for the entire world you can pm me. I haven't ever fished there for crappie, always bream, but I am thinking now would be about right. Thanks, Dan

Was there week ago Friday, and it was good. (Water) Temp had dropped a little, but we managed to bring home a mess. Im thinking now is the time to go. Actually, Fri, and yesterday were the time to go, but I wouldn't be scared to try it right now.

actually caught bout as many of them as the crappie. some really nice shellcrackers on a blue and white jig. the crappie were smallish, but the bigguns should have turned on by now.

Oh yeah, there is almost always atleast one boat full of them.

Seriously, not many. Population down south is pitiful compared to what it used to be.

Looks like the Mississippi and tributary rivers are on a major rise. Should make for a good spawn, but will make em hard to catch on the refuge lakes and bayous.

Any recent reports from the refuge? I am fishing in a family/friends fishing tournament this weekend. I know the river will be at 29 in Clarendon, but is there any bodies of water that won't have current? Where can I find some "clearer" water?

    Thanks for any help!

Bathtub with the plug in would be the best bet for clear water without current. Fishin may be about as good too.
