Hmmm, there were a couple thousand blackbirds that died and fell from the sky in bebee. This wasn't suppose to happen until 2012.

I read on CNN this morning that all the fish were drum. Very strange. It also said you guys in Beebe scared those birds to death with fireworks.

    Default Kill

Well we weren’t officers but just biologists. We did find a ton of drum. They were from 5 to 14 inches. We did not see any bigger than that which is the puzzling part of the whole situation. We did find 2 bluegill, 1 white crappie, 2 sauger. That was all of the sport fish found. I suspect there will be lots of rumors about dead sport fish but those are not true. We think it was some type of disease and was able to collect a few that were still alive to get tested. If you have any questions about the kill please contact Bob Limbird or Frank Leone at 1-877-967-7577.

    Thanks

It would be nice to have drum-kill on the river here in Central Arkansas.

100,000 drum is pretty close to the number I throw on the bank during the year.

    Angry oil and water

I've fished ozark/Jeta 4 days in the last 2 weeks. Lots of cats and whites being caught. There is a considerable oil sheen on the water coming from the powerhouse. I may just be picky but I wouldn't want that emulsified oil on my line much less my gills.

Ever try any poor boy shrimp ? Cut fillets into shrimp sized pieces and boil in shrimp boil then dip in cocktail sauce.

    Nimrod,

That's the exact way I've been told by several people. My grandpaw had gall bladder problems and couldn't eat fried foods. He said drum were his favorite baked fish. Wrapped in foil with lemon and bell peppers.
