    Default Old Town

Gonna get a report from two guys heading to Old Town this weekend. Hopefully Old Town, Mallard, or Ashbaugh will produce for us. Any idea what the water is like down at Maddox Bay? I would love to get back into some of those little lakes in a duck boat!

Portia should be fine by the time you get here. Haven't been back to Horner or shirey.

A friend fished it last thursday with no problems...bass.

Several nice days between now and when you get here. If I get by there I'll check it out but it should be fine.

Got a good report on Old Town from a guy who fished Fri. Got a report today that Portia and Shirey Bay were really high but the water didn't look bad. We are going to hit one of the bays off the Black River tomorrow at day break. If we can't do anything tomorow, we are going to hit Old Town on Tues.

Any updates on any of the bays off the BR will be much appreciated. Might save me a trip if you guys know the fish are off there right now.

You pretty much just described my 8 hrs on Portia today

I fished hard for 8 hrs from 7 to about 4:30. I fished jigs 1/8 and 1/32 tube jigs and road runner jigs. I used about 5 diff colors of tube jigs. Water was high; probably 7-8 ft of water on the bank side of many of the cypress trees. Water felt cold too. Clarity was good. After fishing almost every tree, stump, fall downs, and everything else in between I started trolling jigs. Caught some of the smallest crappie I've ever seen. Seriously, I caught a 2 inch long crappie today!

I caught only one crappie big enough to keep. Overall, I think I caught 10 or so crappie, a few good bream, a poly cat, and a lmbass.

Any updates on Old Town? We are considering heading there tomorrow.

Got the same kind of report, so headed down there this morning. Fished all day for two fish. Found a few on the beds, dropped every color under the sun at them, and think I shouldda took a treble hook, cause they wouldn't bite anything. Thats my luck.Lots of folks fishing, nobody that I talked to was catching anything to brag on. Tomorrow will be good, I gotta work.
