    Default What Size Electrical Wire...

I need to run electrical wire for small hand control tm, and I've forgotten what gauge wire to use. I think 6 ga. would do. Is that right ?...

6 would definitely work but would probably be overkill. Depending on the length of the run 8, 10 or 12 would be sufficient with 8 still likely being overkill and 12 possibly being too light if the run is 10 or more feet long.

For a small hand control say 30 lb thrust or less 10 ga should be plenty.

I installed an Atwood plug in the front of my boat and ran 2 strands of 10gauge to the rear. I also have my DF spliced and soldered in. I spliced in an inline fuse for safety purposes. To date, all is functioning fine and no blown fuses. The total length of the run was 12 feet.
