Thanks for the info. Very useful information!I have the upright food saver vacuum sealer. It took a little bit of time to get used to but once I figured it out it works great. We seal all crappie, cereal for my baby girl, deer, duck, and other wild game. Previously I had a black and decker sealer it kind of worked but the juices would cause it not to seal properly. To solve this problem I would fold a paper towel to about an 1 1/2" wide and place it right in front of the fish. As I sealed the bag the paper towel would absorb the juices and I would get a complete seal. Also if you buy the pre cut food saver bags or the food saver brand rolls it becomes quite expensive, but gander mountain used to sell bulk off brand rolls that work very good. Also I searched online and found the 11" x 50' rolls for $19. The biggest savings that I can see using the vacuum sealer over freezing in water is the amount of room that you save in the freezer.
