I have never noticed a difference like that. I will be watchin this one. Maybe Ship or 1 of the other guys will chime in with an answer.
Started rigging with slip corks a few weeks ago due to being able to pitch under trees and limbs better. Working out great on that part but the trouble i am having is line twist. Have tried several sizes of jig heads. I do not use a reel. I use the little teflon/ plastic reels taped to the handle on my jig pole. Changed line from 4# to 6#. Watched the way i spooled it. Never had this problem before with a pegged float. Any info on how to solve. Do not want to use a swivel.

I use slipcorks all the time with hook and splitshot for livebait. Only a few times with jigs but I have not had any problem with a slipcork and bobberstop causing line twist either way. (???) When you figure it out please let us know.
The only thing I can think of that might cause such is a current causing your jig to spin and you are holding it in place under the tree under that slipcork. (???)

if you use the small plastic bobber stops(speed stops i think they are called), the ones with 2-3 holes in them which you thread your line through, can cause some serious line twist.
Try the string style stops, or the small rubber bead style tops, neither of which will cause line twist.
If the problem still persists, you have line twist issues.

Ditto about the small red bobber stops. Had the same problem until I switched back to commercialy tied slip bobber knots.
Another thing is the fishing line, what are you using? Maybe the line your using holds memory.

Quick, someone teach me how to fish so I can win this tournament!!!
Even the thread stops will cause this if its cinched to tight and you're constantly changing depths.
Switch to braid and problem solved.
I toss it underhand and do not have that problem. Sometimes I see it tossing overhand but not much. I do use a #14 swivel below my float to eliminate line twisting. I attach my leader to that. It also makes it easier to switch out the terminal tackle by having pre tied rigs ready to go and I just attach them to the swivel.

20#braid w-thill bobber- I like the pro modle because of the brass insert on top.
the braid will eventually wear a cut in the plain plastic version.
Just clip on whatever jig you fancy or
I use a 4" mono leader for the minners.
My rig has proven itself to be very reliable and easy to use.
I know the braid bothers some folks, but it will keep you from losing the whole rig.
Thumbs Up

I used the string type stops and have never had a problem.
