Default playing around with i_fish new jighead

I follow i_fish on YouTube like a lot of you guys and when he came out with his jighead the other day I figured I’d pick up a few packs. The gills cooperated and I put a few on the bank. The jighead is good quality but the hook size felt small to me. It is a #12 hook and super sharp but my preference would be a #10. He is working on a 1 gram and 1.5 gram with a #10 hook and I think that will be more in my wheel house. This may be a quality option for you guys that don’t want to ship from Japan and deal with inflated shipping costs. Oh and the pink plastic is typically in a green pumpkin or black color but wanted to try something different.

I got some too. The hook is super sharp. It pinches whenever I lose a JDM jighead. So I had been making some of my own by crimping a split shot on to a fly jig hook. Glad now we have a good domestic option.

I’m with Bob, thanks for the walk through. I was given some Daiwa jigheads and I’ve tried a couple, but I can’t get past about 5 casts and they’re hung beyond retrieval. I like em fine but I need to catch fish on them before they get hung. Now you know why I use my little jigheads that I do. When I say I fish in the trash, I’m not telling stories. Those are some nice fish,I can smell the tacos from here. I’m enamored with the handle on that rod. I’d like to find out who makes them and buy a couple for my builds. Thanks for the visit, I’ve enjoyed it.

Skeet as far as handles go they sure are comfortable. As far as us rods the handle is a little similar to say a falcon bucoo rod if I remember the name of it correctly. These JDM jigheads can be frustrating in heavy wooded areas. When I vertical jig I usually use a lightwire jighead.

Ouch! It would pinch me twice as bad if I would lose em without catching fish.

The reel seat is either a Fuji IPS or VSS. The rear grip for this available in the US is longer. To get the shape like on the JDM rod you will have to put it on a lathe.

The hood assembly can be bought from either Mudhole or Voodoo Rods.
