Sometimes a short rod is a good thing. I want a dang fine 5 to 5.5 foot rod. The Yamaga Blanks BluCurrent III 53 was what I wanted, but they are out of production for months; pre-order only. I am looking for something in stock. I recently bought some underwater lights, and want to explore night-fishing. At least I will be away from the daytime zoomies.

Shortest UL rod I have is a Berkley Cherry 5'6" from the 70s, with a nice AG Mitchell 408 on it. I should complain ... not really ... but

I welcome suggestions for a short - but extremely sensitive - vertical jigging rod for panfish. UL of course!
Digitaka has the Yamaga Blucurrent III 53 in stock. Sounds like what you are looking for. I would like to find the bait casting version, but no luck so far.
