Is this olympic rod a solid or tubular tip?
I believe is is a solid tip
That corto rod came in 2 versions, a tubular tip or super carbon tip. The super carbon tip version is inserted into the last 2/3 rds of the rod which is tubular, it is almost like a ferrule. Is the tip splitering to the tip top? I had a similar problem that was easilly fixed.
Here is a pic of the rod tip and the model but it is a solid tip. I am kind of thinking about trying super glue before I buy a new tip? Thoughts?
Inexpensive way but u lose 1-2” of rod. Cut just below compromised are and add a tip top or go down to next eye and cut just above eye and leave as is or replace eye with new tip top. The blank is usually very thin at end so u need a caliper to measure usually .7-1 mm (2-2.5) which r not available is usa but japan has them.

Anyone rolling with new gear for the summer? Any recent noteworthy rod purchases or are you considering anything?

I am having knee replacement on Wednesday....downtimes like that for me usually mean JDM purchases. I will not be fishing for at least the next 2 months so in all likelihood I am sure I will buy some more gear. But I have made a few important lure purchases. After thoroughly testing out the Niakis spinners on the Caney Fork River here at home...and on the Little Red out in Arkansas....I determined that it is a fantastic spinner bait for trout...off the charts good. I bought quite a few from Chris and wanted more, but upon my return home he had zero stock so I went looking.....found them at FishingShopKiwi. Also stocked up on the Timon Metal KuroBall....trout swarm after the thing but it has a barbless hook and the split ring is so small I need to order the Daiwa split ring pliers from Chris as the Cultiva pliers I got do not fit the KuroBall split rings. But hopefully more gear coming in the next 2 months or so.

Best wishes on the upcoming surgery, Randy. Sorry to hear you have to get it done during the summer. Hopefully a quick recovery!
