That is an excellent deal. One can get the tuning kit for it and have only $224 in the reel....sweet!

So most everyone has been ordering the bearing kits directly from hedgehog? Also curious what type of bearing kit you get? I would assume “SHG?” About to place an order to upgrade my 15 Luvias and my Ballistic... any direction would be appreciated... thank you

I think I read where Randy gets his out of Florida, think a guy on eBay has the tune kits. Not 100% on that, you might PM him.

HPRbearings seller on EBay maybe? Not affiliated so not promoting product.

I did order min from hedgehog studio and was shipped pretty fast. Came in clearly labeled with a tiny Allen wrench and a set of instructions. Also, ordered a set of custom cork knobs as well.

I am thinking about upgrading my reels too but am a little concerned about messing something up. I’m pretty mechanically inclined but nervous about disassembling a $200+ reel. Did y’all watch any how to videos or are y’all just going off printed instructions?

In college I decided to disassemble and clean my first Shimano bait-caster and I never got the thing back together. I clip or two went flying and that was the end of that reel. It was the backlash king, so I was too upset.

I've been getting my bearings off of Ebay for over 2 years. Randy has said they are the same as those from Hedgehog.
Here is a link to a Hedgehog bearing kit showing the locations of the old parts and the new bearings.

It's a piece of cake. If your vision is half way decent you'll have no issues.
