Do you know what is the smallest guide that will fit through. I’ve seen it many times but they do not list the guide size. I’ve been looking at some on Plat for months but they are only good for #4 guides and above. Number 4 is small but many of my guides are 3.5 and several are 3.

    Regards

It fits the guides on my Rockin' Drift but won't fit the guides on the Limber Tip...I never tried it on that rod until tonight...I'm not sure how to measure guide size but the outside dia. of the smallest guides on the Limber Tip measures 3.31 mm...

That would equate to a #3 ring. How about giving us a little review of the Limber Tip?

Uni knot takes a bit of time and is not a quick knot imo but I don’t have any issues once it’s tied... you are catching fish and that’s what matters... Id love to catch a fish right now lol

Are you guys not able to tie the FG Knot? I tie the FG on 4 and 5 lb braid to 6lb mono all the time. There's a guy from Rad Reeling Fish on YouTube who has an alternative method of tying it, that's the one I use.

Before that, I was using a Yucatan Knot. It's a very good knot, too.

I’m not able to tie it. Many of us that are growing older have trouble tying nots. If I was using 20# test line it would be a piece of cake but dealing with fine diameter lines for an older guy can be frustrating.

FWIW, the only method I can accomplish tying the FG knot properly, is in the Rad Reel Fish YouTube video. I think if you guys go to that channel and find his video you will quickly determine his method is by far the easiest method.

Now that said, I truly don't know if I could tie it in my boat. Typically I will tie the Yucatan Knot if I'm forced to re-tie my leader out in the boat.

Has anybody (besides me) tried the loop-to-loop method? It's used a lot in fly fishing. I've used it for both fly and spin.

One big advantage is that you can tie up your leaders at home ahead of time. Here's a demo:

    I’ve never tried it.
