Frankly, I wouldn't mind keeping only the Yamaga's TZ Nano models, and also the Rockin' Finesse, for the thinnest of the esters and the lightest of the jig heads. I am hoping to replace the Finesse with one of the Yoihime Ten finesse light models at some point in the future.

That’s a serious rod....in all likelihood the lightest spinning rods on the planet. I’ve taken a look at the Hana series.

I noticed you'd mentioned 83 TZ Long Cast in a few places here and other forums as well. I read a lot about this rod on Russian sites, as well as the new 83 TZ Nano Flex and their comparisons. It appears that the new version is much slower than the Long Cast (many refer to the Flex as "noodle"), has true moderate action, and loads up quite well with light lures. It seems that all of the newest additions to the TZ Nano family have been much more moderate in their actions, which I personally appreciate.

That’s true....it’s a very rigid rod. Doesn’t protect light line very well when fighting larger fish.

Got into a few good fish with the Eradicator Slow Taper Special today. About the time the fishing got good the heat had me headed home.....I’m getting old....LOL. This rod is just superb at bite detection and playing a fish with this rod is pure joy. The bend in the rod really helps protect the ester line. Just can’t say enough good things about this rod.

    Regards

I was able to take the new 6'7" Eradicator out today for the first time. It was slow going but I caught a few. The rod is super sensitive and a blast to fish. It cast the 1/64 TM with ease and has amazing bite detection (compared to what I've been accustomed to in the past). I missed several what were likely smaller fish, but the highlight of the evening was the warmouth I caught. I've never caught one before in the pond I fish. He put a hurtin' on that TM and doubled over Eradicator. It will be my main fishing rod for now with the Major Craft Fine Tail sliding down into the 2 hole.

I had it paired with the 18 Caldia 1000s and it performed well. However, I am on the hunt for a new reel for it, which has been discussed in the reel thread.

Congrats on the rod....it really does shine.

    Alphahawk,

Any chance you can tell me diameters in the tip and the butt of the blank for Blue Current 83 TZ Long Cast? They list the values on the label attached to the case, but that's likely long gone by now...

    Many thanks.

On a related note: I think it would be great to have a database of sorts for the JDM rods in possession of the forum members who are willing to share information. I bet others contemplating an acquisition would find it helpful. Much like your very first post in this thread, but perhaps just a list without detailed comments. May be a better fit for a separate thread at this point...
