The Tict is much stiffer and faster than the BC 71TZ, which is almost whippy in comparison, and is way more forgiving. The BC is too soft to shoot docks - the Tict was bought specifically for shooting docks. Today I was casting and twitching trout magnets searching for fish (no docks on this lake), and caught several spotted bass and bream on both rods. They are both sensitive, but the nod goes to the Tict SRAM. I could feel my jig hitting branches soon enough to pull up without a snag. A 2 lb spot I caught on the Tict had no chance, I just let the drag wear him out for an easy net on 3 lb test.

Thanks for the comments! That's what draws me to BC – I keep reading they are quite flexible, but I also keep reading about how sensitive they are for their action. I need them to be forgiving for my bay fishing. But SRAM is high on my to-do list. Hoping to accumulate a selection of both line-ups...
Can you comment on casting performance?
The longer 71TZ casts a tad farther, which is to say, they both throw a 1.5 g Daiwa jig over them mountains, man. Right over the bank into the trees if I wasn't careful. I was using 3 lb Unitika braid on the BC reel, and 4 lb flouro on the SRAM reel (my go-to dock shooting line), so it wasn't a fair comparison. Both reels were 2000-size Luvias, a "15 on the Tict and my new "20 on the BC.

Nice arsenal you got there! I have 67 and 77 stream on the way. Can't quite decide on the reels, but thinking about the new Twin Power. I can't wait to get back out again!
I found my Soare SS Ajing to be quite unforgiving with mackerel. If I kept the drag loose, I would get line twist after a few fish, although I tried not to reel when they were pulling. If I tightened it up, I'd rip the hook out of their mouths from time to time.

I take it out of the case and look at it from time to time. This year may be the time to actually fish with it. It has only been used on one trip....catching a bunch of big shell cracker. It is a MegaBass ShoreLuck Limited 68 ULS with titanium Torzite guides. Not many were made. It has deep purple marbling on the butt....the butt cap is wrapped in thread. The rod originally sold for $450 but about 6 years ago I bought it on a whim when JPANGLER had a Christmas sale for $250. They came out with a 2015 model but it was not the caliber of this model. Will be a great rod to hand off to my son some day.

Beautiful rod, Alphahawk. I really like the attention to detail.
You mentioned Christmas sale: I'm looking forward to that time of year and will pause my rod buying adventure until then. When I was looking around last Christmas, albeit not for JDM ultralights, I managed to score a fantastic swimbait rod (extra heavy, I should take a picture of a JDM ultralight rod next to it just for laughs) for around $60 – about 80% off...

Anybody tried the Major Craft TRAPARA AREA GAME rods? They seem like a nice rod for the money.
Thanks
