Looks like them gators here to stay. Once I heal up I may take my tinny over that way. Hope you feel better. FYI they say folks been getting food poison from flour. Eating cookie raw cookie dough and pan cake batter. Just an FYI

Once you start think of all the sloughs, back waters and private land that borders the Tennessee River that's not accessible for most anglers I'm sure there's at least a couple hundred in north Alabama. I doubt their numbers are increasing very fast since this is the northern extreme of their range, but the adults here will die of old age, LOL!

The last 10 years we have had warm winters that have allowed the young to survive at a higher rate than previous decades and its reflected in the number of sightings . I’ve been fishing limestone bay for 30+ years and never saw a gator until 10 or so years ago but now I’ve had days where I see 3-4 different gators same day including in the deep channel that leads to the river. Boats have killed a couple in the river east of ditto landing too so numbers may be really booming

My band played a show Saturday. There was a food truck there. Everyone that ate brisket got sick.

I saw stumpy in either 1999 or 2000. I’ve heard it was a female. But very impressive. Very big and you could see part of the tail missing. I’ve heard stories of it being in the same pit years before that. Any sunny day it was in the first pit as you come into the peninsula.
