There's a gate at Mooresville (where it enters Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge) that's closed and lock this time of year. The only access would be walking in from the gate.
Ditch, what about putting in at the end of CR 71. Is that any good, or is there a put in place there. It looks good on the map.

I see an old guy fishing in a canoe who is in his 80's and swears that he catches sauger in there sometimes in winter....Ive caught a few perch but no sauger....

The only place I've caught a few sauger is the Flint and the Pain Rock River during winter. Limestone Creek is spring feed way up stream so even during droughts there's a constant flow entering Lake Wheeler. Who knows, maybe a few in there from time to time.
That’s a beautiful look at that creek where the old bridge is . Brings back a lot of memories.
Love to see those perch! That's always a great bonus catch.
