I like them dredged in corn meal, fried in peanut oil and served with Jalapeno hushpuppies!

Easiest way is go to wal mart get Zatarans fish fry, some creole powder. Pick up some hush puppies and fries already made up. Batter and fry fish then sprinkle creole powder on real light. Your wife will love you.

I have never eaten a hush puppy that was store bought that was worth the grease it takes to cook them. Hush puppies are easy to make . ill give you recipe. You need cornmeal, onion, bell pepper ,hot pepper, and buttermilk. As for fish, I like Louisiana fish fry in the blue pack. Walkers also makes a Cajun type batter but it is hard to find. They are also very good coated in just plain cornmeal.

Coach. I was just giving him an easy out. I know homemade is best but the store bought have gotten better also.

I like Zatarans too. If I'm feeling really ambitious I mix my own with a local coarse ground corn meal, paprika, red and black pepper, and salt. dredging the fish in egg before the meal is good too - makes the filets really crispy.

I really like frying with peanut oil. It's expensive but I recover it and reuse. To me fried food just taste better with peanut oil.
