    Default Need help HB unit

Made it out just for a hour or so trying to figure out my HB 598 si di I have lots to learn.anybody local willing to teach me .I'm willing to learn .I moved my transducer up about a inch or so because of the rooster tail that it was throwing and at full speed it was popping up from the resistance. I still having trouble with it spraying and it don't seem to be picking up correctly on the left side like it was .maybe motor interference ? This was worth the time out though!

Slabprowler I'm not very good at fish finders ether. If someone doesn't get you some answers. Repost this on the electrics page. I know someone will have the right advice on there but I bet you someone will help you here.

Ducer looks a bit low to me. Mine is in line with the bottom of the boat, and I have no issues. Tape a yard stick or something straight to the bottom of your boat, then let the ducer just touch it. That was method I used, saw it on youtube. Good luck!

Not sure what kind of boat you have? On my Triton, I mounted my transducer "fixed" to the boat. On my aluminum war eagle, I bought the pictured mount at Cabela's several years ago. It works great for a couple of reasons. First, I did not want to drill into my aluminum hull. Two, I fish this boat mostly in the creeks with many laydowns and structure. This mount allows me to adjust the depth for the environment. Not sure if this helps you? I do agree with above post that your transducer still looks a bit low.

Spaceman, I like the mount I am going to look for one like that for my boat when I make it over to Cabelas. I have my Bird SI mounted on a piece of oak 1x2 that I have clamped with a C clamp to the transom.
