Default Kayak Trip Report, Beaverdam Creek

I took a few days off work and decided to fished Beaverdam creek off old Hwy 20 this morning. I started working upstream, but only got a few hundred yards before trees and brush in the creek stopped me. This creek is too muddy to be hopping in and out dragging shallow areas so I turned around and headed down stream. I went down stream a few hundred yards, but soon the creek was solid moss. I managed a dozen Crappie in one little area, half would measure and all returned. I also caught a few small bass and gills.

Ok area, just limited. Water was a little stained and 72 degrees. The best bait was a 1/32oz spinner with a white curly tail.

Good report. Have you tried the creek on Huntsville/browns ferry road just east of Mooresville rd ? Looks like a good stretch of water. We used to fish the gravel pits north of the bridge several years ago . Caught some nice chain pickerel and bass out of them. Nice looking creek just before dogwood flats going toward tanner cross roads.Nice to get out and explore new water jut to see what's around the bend.

The key to most of these creeks being really good is either moving water year round or some large deep holes to fish. Limestone has both, which is the reason it's so good. I've got a new creek I'm looking at, once I get a chance to fish it I'll report. I don't want to let the "cat out of the bag" and someone get to fish it before me, LOL.
