    Default Guntersville 1/30/16

Fished from 4:00 til 8:00 AM and only managed 14 Crappie. Kept the five biggest for supper. Fished with minnows and jigs. Blue thunder was best color for the few I caught on jigs. Felt good to be out on the water though.

Obviously I am not H.M. Slab, but I'll respond to your question. Yes.

Of course, you will have to take a number to get close to the South Sauty bridge. (g) But the crappie are moving up the creeks that have good water like North and South Sauty, and gathering up along the channel anywhere the bait stops. Find a good drop or bend in the creek or take a number around the bridge.

I fish the more southern parts of the lake from Seibold down to Browns Creek. I don't get up to South Sauty very often. The bridges on the lower end of the lake are like that though when the fish are there, you have to get in line. I like isolated structure we have put out better. Long line trolled a little Saturday with no success after only catching of few from our normal spots. Fish I caught Satureday were around 15' deep in structure placed in 20-25 feet of water.
