Default Decatur Bait & tackle shop

I was posting late ( I forgot ). The owner Mr. Crow passed away last month in peace. The family hasn't been there much in the last three months. Spending time with him as much as they could. It's been opened regularly since the first of Novenber by his grandson. He said it would be stocked up in a few months, after the legal waiting period is done. But has plenty of live bait and mostly crappie tackle. The grandson ask if I'd post to thank everyone for their patience and kind words. I sure will miss him, he was like my own family. He must have gave kids more fishing stuff than anyone I'd ever seen. He was a godly man who loved everyone.

There is a lot of us that worked with Jud (that's what he was called) years ago at Monsanto in Decatur. He was well liked and a good friend. I don't live in Decatur but would buy my Bobby Garland from them, always have very good prices, much better than anyone around close.

Glad to hear they are going to keep it going. I rather get my bait from them than the other guy. Better prices and more friendly service.

Mr. Crow was a very generous fellow. I was very saddened to hear about this. I always stopped in their to buy my minnows before heading to the ramp. I really enjoyed talking with him whether it be about fishing or just the good ol days. Mr. Crow was a guddun for sure. I hope his grandson is able to keep the bait store going.

Plus, the other guy does not pay his bills. Not sure how he is even still in business...

Sorry to hear about Mr. Crow. Like many of you, I have made many stops in there for minnows. I always loved it because it had that "little baitshop" feel like I grew up around in my family. I hope they will be able to keep it open for many years to come.
