Great catch and report as usual
I tried something new today since the wind was blowing like crazy. I fished the old Gravel Pits near Mooresville. Specifically dragging my kayak into the ones cut off from Limestone Creek. I found a few fish scattered on laydowns, isolated brush and the occasional old lily pad in 24 to 36 inches of water. I caught 60 plus, keeping a half limit for dinner. I ended up have a nice day salvaged from poor conditions. Best bait was a Bobby Garland in Chartreuse on a 1/32 jig head. Water was 65 degrees and very clear.
Good lessen on how much better Black Crappie are able to deal with shallow, warm water in the summer compared to the White Crappie. All the Blacks were thick and health. The Whites were long and very skinny. I also returned 6 Black Crappie that were over 14 inches.

Way to go DB. Know a few guys that used to wade some of the shallow pits in that area.
Never been in either but thinking about it. Have a guy that said I can have his canoe for $50 whenever I want it. Think I would make some outriggers for it if I decide to buy it

I went out to Limestone Bay this morning. I quit at 10:30, and the wind was whipping the bay into a frenzy. Good audible on your part.
