    Default Guntersville after dark 3-30-15

Decided to see how they were biting after dark. Got to Town Creek / Belefonte at 7:00 and a couple was leaving with half a fish basket of crappie. Water was falling fast, I used a lighted slip float with a 1\16 jig head, used several different Bobby Garland Baby Shad before finding they liked Electric Chicken the best. Some bites were hard and others were very soft almost undetectable, others lifted the jig and laid the float over. I picked up 10 crappie 11" or bigger before 10:00 when the water changed direction and the fish moved around to different ambush points. From 10:00 to midnight I caught 13 crappie with only one to small to measure. Caught two bass and a catfish as a bonus. I had the place to myself no boats or other fishermen around. Just me, the mosquitoes, and a blue heron. Water was slick as glass with little to no wind. All fish were released. The last photo is a crappie going into the water and on its way.

Great report Jack, thanks. Sounds like you have really been racking it up on that spot this year.
