Way to figure them out.....sometimes thats all it takes is to speed up or slow down!
Got to Weiss before sunrise and long lined hot grubs on 1/24 till lunch time with only 8 keepers out of 50 fish being caught. We decided to take out and go to Neely since it was on the way home. We long lined same setup but were still catching short fish and so was everyone else we talked to. We were picking up a keeper here and there and it started getting late in the day so we decided to concentrate on one spot that was producing keepers. I went to turn the boat around so we could hit the spot again and kicked up the speed on the trolling motor to make the turn and bam. All 6 poles had fish on them so left the trolling motor alone and we were trolling at 1.8 mph and that was the ticket. We ended the day with 26 keepers from Neely. I had been trolling at .7 to .9 mph all day and they wanted them hot grubs moving faster. Not a bad day fighting hurricane force winds all day.

An ungrateful man is like hog under a tree eating acorns, but never looking up to see where they come from!
Good job.We done the same Sunday at Mink Creek just west of Scottsboro.Trolling hot grubs .8 to 1.0. made a turn to dodge 2 boats that had pinched us off and all 3 rods on the outside bent down pretty good.Sped up to 1.4 to 1.5 and it was on.John Deere & electric chicken was the colors that worked best on that particular day.
Gonna try Guntersville Friday and back to Neely on Saturday. Guntersville will be a mad house with the big bass splash this weekend.
had 38 keepers between myself and my partner from weiss on tuesday the 19th trolling planer boards with electric chicken and bubblegum /chart hot grubs , i would be afraid to say how many we threw back, but 200 is probably not an exageration. only bad part is that 5 out 6 of our party got so sick we had to come back home
I noticed a fast troll last week as well. Bet it slows way down with the weather this week.
