Kayak Trip Report, North Limestone Bay, Lake Wheeler, Part II

I went back to the North end of Limestone Bay this morning. I figured after my post Saturday that there were boats all over it yesterday. I worked the same areas again today looking for male Crappie that had move up early looking for bedding areas. I didn’t stay long and moved fast from one spot of visible cover to another in 12 to 36 inches of water. They seem to like the Bobby Garland Watermelon Wine today on a 1/16 oz jig head. I caught 35 of 40 total and kept half a limit.

I’ve got a couple of errands to run first, then I’ll post a picture when I clean them later this afternoon.

The wind was brutal again today! At least it wasn’t as cold as Saturday.

I got a Humminbird Piranhamax 196ci. I've been too shallow to use it the last two trips out though. I don't think I've been in any water deeper than three feet. I'm looking forward to trying it out in Limestone Creek if the wind ever stops blowing!

Spaceman,

Limestone was down a foot since Sat. I wished the rain would miss us this week. The warm weather is going to make this coming weekend great, but the rain may muddy everything up and blow out the creeks and backwaters. I tossed back another 15" Crappie Sat after I got my limit and I threw back two 14" today. I just need the wind to calm down so I can track down where the big females are staged!

I had a class today but thur or fri i will make a short trip. The 196ci, can you see the graph and speed(gps) simultaneously.
