No handheld gps???, no problem
Thought I might let ypu guys that do not have a hh or speed on your ff/df know, if u have a smartphone, you can download the app called backpacker lite, and ithas maps, satellite views and trip recorder, with speeds. its a free app if u get the lite edition. Thought I would pass it along

Ment to add , if u run your battery down on your phone using this app, u have a good excuse when u miss the wifes call!!

Will give it a try. Been thinking about buying the navionics app.
Thanks

Jdunn...novel idea!. I wouldn't dare miss a call from my wife...hmmm! I use an inexpensive Attwood 12v battery adaptor (~$7.00 @ Walmart) on my small boat to use my car charger for the phone. I run a Hbird 798 SI, trolling motor, and the phone charger on one battery all day with no problems. Just a thought if someone wanted to go this route and doesn't already have an accessory outlet on their boat.
