People like that are not true fishermen they usually don't last long. They can't find the fish their selfs so they take them right out of your livewell. The true sportsmen of this sport called fishing is just as you were doing as we all have done is teach our sons and daughters how it is suppose to be done. This was a very good learning experence for your son the right way and the wrong way.In the last days right will be wrong and wrong will be right.Feed our dogs and teach our kids to play!!!!

You are not alone in your thoughts maddog. People like that shouldn't even be allowed to be on the water in my opinion. Last week I took my 3 year old out in the boat with me to do a little trolling, and about 50 ft from me there were a couple of other boats trolling as well and one of the guys told the guy in the other boat that he was going to slow and bucked him up (cept he didn't say bucked). In plain hearing distance of my little 3 year old son. Some people now a days just have no respect for others. I have absolutely no respect for people like that, zero, zilch.

unfortunately...there are bad apples in every basket, especially here on weiss.I fish from the bank a lot during the month of march, with my daughter, and it never fails for some jerk(s) in there 40,000 bass rigs to come flying by us trimmed up and skint back in a slew about 150ft wide....over the last couple of years I have been taking notice of where these people are coming from.....the vast majority of the ones I saw were from kentucky/illinois....slow down folks....and idle past people trying to fish from the bank

When that has happened to me, I figure I am gonna move to another spot anyway, so I start making all kind of racket. Banging hatch covers, dropping anchors and then picking them up and splashing them up and down to "remove the mud". i think in your case, I would have let the little lad pee off the side of the boat before loudly exiting the area. Sometimes if the "intruder" acts like a real a**, I will sit there and call up the Marine Police on the Radio and give them the Registration Number of the idiot.

That sounds like a good idea! I should have done that. I can make a lot of racket in my aluminum boat. Just a lot of walking around and like you said, accidentally dropping a few things should do the trick, haha

poeple have no respect for others, thats why i quit most of my bass fishing on Guntersville, they see you catch fish so they want your spot, most of the crappie and cat people do show some respect for your space but i guess some of them just dont care

I don't get to crappie fish much but we have the same problem when fishing for specks on reefs. I always keep me one rod rigged with a extra large weighted float and when I see someone getting to close I will cast it as far as I can in there direction. This is just to let them know the next one might end up in there boat.
There use to be a guide service that if they saw you catch a fish they would move in on top of you, they are now out of business. It all comes down to respect.
I have a rule of thumb that I use when fishing reefs due to the size of the reefs. I look at how far the fisherman is casting, how far that I will be casting plus 50ft. That way we can not get into the same casting zone. I know that crappie fishing is different but if a person will just be respectable and keep his distance it would be nice.

HAVE A GOOD DAY AND GOD BLESS!!!

Get the boat registration number and turn it in. Perhaps you might have noticed that they were likely to have been drinking heavily or at least suspect it. It doesn't hurt to voice that suspicion, when you make the call. Don't accuse unless you are sure, but you can sure suspect.
