Man if your in mccalla go hit bankhead. your alot closer to it that lay and you'll catch just as many fish. you dont hear as much about bankhead because its not as sexy as lay or mitchell but you'll catch just as many fish and its more than big enough for your boat (just watch out for barges). Not being one of those people that hides his fishing spots ill even tell you where to fish. First get a lake map. if you put in at howtons camp you can go straight across the river into mulberry fork. you will see a large creek on your left after about a mile, its the only big creek on the left, fish there. after you leave there continue up mulberry till you see boat houses slap in front of you. this is bluff creek. fish there. youll see trees down in the water in both creeks, fish over them. now back to howtons. if you come out of howtons and go to the right you will see a very large creek to the left and a tributary (locust fork) on the right. first go left. this is prescot creek. at the mouth on your left is a large flat thats about 6 - 8 feet deep. fish there. be careful in prescot as the depth varies wildly once you get back in there and you need to stay in the creek channel when your running. run farther up in to prescot (be careful) and youll see and inlet with a boat house on the right with some trees down in it. fish there. back to howtons. if you pull out of howtons and circle around to the right you will be on the locust fork. go up the locust fork a few miles until you pass a bridge under constructions and start seeing bluffs on your left. fish the dropoffs under those bluffs. this is all for now.
