What pressure? How do I find this pressure reading? What is good pressure? What is the pressure now that is making them not bite? Can someone give more details?

Fished Weiss Wednesday through Saturday with my 11 year old son. Brought home 65 keepers with several 1-1/2 to 2 pounders. Caught them from mid lake to lower lake in 7 foot on 1/24 jiffy jigs. A great trip for my kid.

You may have been doing everything right, just at the wrong time of day maybe ???? It seems like they are on a early and late bite right now. I fished Weiss yesterday also (3/19). I fished from 8:00am till 5:00pm. I caught 45-50 fish, but most were short fish. I did manage to get 10 keepers. The fish were biting really well when I got there, and kept biting good till around noon. I caught very few fish at all during the middle of the day. It was like they just left. I stayed till late afternoon, thinking I could get in on the late day bite, but I gave up on em at 5 and headed to the house. Water temp was 61 at 8:00am, and warmed to 70 by 5:00pm. Most of the keepers I caught were females, staged out in 5-7 ft of water. They all looked like they had swallowed a golf ball... busting with eggs, ready to spawn. Talked to some others who were fishing up clolse to the bank (some using minnows and some were using the Float and Fly). They were also catching some good fish. Seems like maybe we have some fish already on the bed, and some still out a little deeper getting ready to move in.

For what it may be worth.... A buddy of mine was fishing West Point this weekend, and he said the same thing was going on down there... Fast action early and late, but slow during mid-day.

Same at Logan Martin on the early bite. Catching them in 3 to 5 feet water. From sunrise to 9:30 they have been biting like crazy. Then it slows way down. Been like that for 2 weeks now. Thursday and Friday had a limit by 9:30 then stayed around until 1pm trying to cull and the bite was real slow.
