Default Eufaula, West point, Harding or Alabama river.

These are my best lakes to fish all an hour or less from the house. I live 3 miles from the Chattahoochee River.

Most people on this board are from north Alabama lakes. Yall share plenty of info among yourselves.. I wish some of you guys from down in east central alabama would post more. I don't share info because I figure no one needs it for n. Alabama.

Come on Southern bama speak up let's get some info going

To Smitty. I live at Eufaula and I'm always looking for information in my area. I'm a retired fireman and I am always looking for someone to fish with. I fished Lake Harding this past Wednesday and caught at least 100 hybids and stripes. I also caught a few crappie, catfish, and bass. I was jigging a spoon and dropping minnows in 43 to48 feet of water. I also fish West Point And Talquin a good bit. Plan to go to talquin next week and the day after Christmas if the weather is willing.

I don't mind chatting and sharing with those Red Necks from Alabama. Euphala was hot a week ago. Dont have anything current to talk about but that you dont want to be Striper fishing on west Point today. Joe is up there taking a Ass whooping today. I might get back to Euphala Christmas . I had a good day this week on WP for stripers. Had 12 to 15 fish in about 2.5 hrs. Ran out of bait and was forced to leave. I just love pain ! This message comming from the HEAD RED NECK of M arion county.

I'm here in the wiregrass on the Alabama side just a half an hour from the hooch.
Eufaula (lakepoint) is my main fishn hole. I want to fish Seminole and Ocheesee but my boat is just too big. I have not been in the water much this year because of the condition of the ramps and some health issues that prevent me from handling this big'o boat all alone. I put a lot of fish in the freezer the first seven months of the year but I haven't been in the water sense July now.
My wife loves to fish. She is kind of scared of boats and the Tracker we had gave her with the feeling she could fall out and gators could just jump up and grab one of the grandkids or her weeny-dog. So, I bought a Ranger 1850 fish and ski. Its big enough we can walk around and stretch. The gunwale is high enough the kids are protected from them snatch-n-grab'n gators :D.
I'm facing two surgeries the fist few months of next year. I hope to be back up and going by summer and I'm looking forward to many days on the water.
Its good to see some conversation from some southerners south of the highway 80 line of the state. Them north Alabama yanks aint like us down heah :p

Hey foul hook, I haven't been in a while , but am off for a little while over the holidays and looking forward to a little striper fishing while it is cold. Never fished West point and live about 30 miles or so from it.People tell me to troll up around Long Cane in the dam area from about Dec. untill Feb. Is that about right ? I usually fish lake Hardin and Martin. Thanx in advance.

This time of the year I like anything above the railroad trussel. The fish are in the mouth of the creeks holding on the first break and the trees . Seeing a lot of fish but not a lot of bait. I killed them on Thursday , but Joe hit a big 0 on sat. The fronts have a lot to do with it. If you fish down lake fish mouth of the creeks an road beds. The yellow jacket can be a killer this time of year. They have run all the way up to the Ringer access. Now you know what I know. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanx for the info foul hook, it will probably be the week after Christmas before I give it a go.If I do any good I will post it. One more question, I have an Alabama license and people tell me not to go any further past the 109 bridge or I will get a ticket. Is this true ?

No, they are just yanking your chain. We caught a boat load of stripes in Maple Creek and Veasey Creek about this same time a year ago. We caught them pulling AWD and KALIN crappie jigs. We were using 1/16 double rigs trolling about .7 mph. Foul Hook definetly knows how to catch em.
