Default Pop's, Laserdoc, etc..little help plz...

We have decided to give up our annual trip to reelfoot and fish Weiss. I am gettin' into town on the 18th and staying until Sunday afternoon. We are staying at Pruett's. I could really use some pointers, help, etc. Unfortunatly the first trip is going to have to be a short one, so I won't have a ton of time to try and explore. I have read the board here serveral times over the years and know y'all long line troll for them often. Does long line still work in late March? Should I shoot docks? Any advise would be greatly needed! Thanks Fred

That week should be a great week for longlineing. Use 1/24 oz head /southern pro grub @ .7-1.0mph. Get in line and follow the boat in front of you. Just be respectful and dont crowd to much. I have seen some get ugly. Due to lines crossing and hanging up. Drive safe coming and good fishing.

Pruitts is right there at Cowen creek. Launch and start fishing. Also ask the people at pruitts where they are.

    Default Where to fish

If you are staying at Pruitt's, you can launch there, and you are on Cowan Creek, a very good area. Buy a lake map, from the store at next to Pruitt's.
They have all you need, bait, ice snacks, gas, etc., they also have a small cafe; try the tenderloin biscuits - good.

When you look at your map, you will notice Cowan Creek is fairly large, and has all types of structure to fish. You may never have to leave Cowan Creek,
I fish this area a lot. You can also tie up under the bridge and fish in the shade when it gets hot, water is 25' deep under bridge. Try the the causeway ( both sides ) crossing Cowan Creek. It is a long, fairly deep, rocky road bed, right there at Pruitt's, and has lots of brush in 10 to 15' of water.

Three Mile creek and Spring creek are also very close, all three of these creeks should be hot by the 18th. Good Luck. Pop
Take a Kid fishing, keep only enough to eat, and release the rest to spawn again. Pop

For late March you are in the best place on the lake. I live in the first cove on the main river north of Cowen Creek on the left side of the river. See ya when you get down. GOOD FISHING, Terry
