Default G-Ville Crappie Patterns this time of year

I am planning a trip to G-ville on the weekend of Oct. 9th. I would like to do a little crappie fishing on one of the days we will be there. I would appreciate anyone filling me in on as what kind of patterns are working and possible jig colors to start with. I am from Ohio and have never tried to fish for crappie in this type of reservoir before. We will be putting our boat in across from the Waterfront Grocery and Tackle.
    Thanks in advance.

Guntersville has a lot of weeds which filter the water, it is a fairly clear lake. So the patterns change day to day even hour to hour with the cloud cover etc. Boat houses, Creek channels and yes the bottle neck bridges are fairly reliable this time of year. The fish can be really shallow if there is cloud cover and they can be 17' to 26' tight to cover on a bright day after a front. Dawn and dusk are good or find some shade. More and more folks fish at night on the big G. From waterfront I would take PAPAPUMPS advice and fish the boat houses, practice dock shooting some if you havent already.
